Building Note-Reading skills, One Belt at a Time!
Created by piano teacher, Julie Lind. Make note reading practice fun and rewarding with this printable piano achievement program! Students progress through eight colorful belt levels, developing their ability to recognize, write, and play notes on the staff and piano keyboard.
Designed for piano studios with students ages 7 and up, this program encourages students to work at their own pace while celebrating their accomplishments along the way.
How It Works
Every student begins with a White Belt and works toward earning seven additional belts: Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Red, and Black. Each level introduces new note-reading challenges. Students practice their skills, complete a belt test when ready, and earn a new belt badge to display on the studio progress board.

- Display board for tracking student achievements
